There is connection between the notions implicit meaning and subtext in a narrative text. Implicit meanings are emotional and mental forms based on implicit knowledge acquired and kept in memory until some certain moment. Through narrative categorization on the basis of these meanings in a narrative text the reader comes to the conscious (sometimes easily verbalized, more often hardly verbalized) conclusion - notion of subtext.
