There is described the image of author of prosaic narrative texts created at the turn of XX-XIX centuries. On the one part the authors image is still perceived as a system image, on the other part there is the transformation taking place that is connected with authors mind defocusing (A.Genis), authors death (S.Bart), with the fact that the author was brought down from the pedestal long ago (K.Stepanyan).
