There is given the analysis of the most widespread barriers in the diagnostics of gifted pupils in the USA secondary schools. There is revealed the discrepancy in interpreting the notion endowments and characteristics of the gifted behavior; generalized the social and pedagogical, national, ethnic and gender stereotypes. There is noted at the necessity of improving modern diagnosis methods and additional teacher training on the given issue.
