There is considered the novel by I.A.Goncharov Oblomov in the aspect of relationships between its two main characters - Ilya Oblomov and Andrey Shtolts. The research subject is the psychological motivation of Shtolts behaviour with the functions given by the author: general literature (means of the novels idea confirmation) and particular literature (it is a concrete mission of the main character in the novel Oblomov). There are also proved the given functions at Shtolts image.
