There are shown the peculiarities of transformation of the Russian naming model used in the Kazakh anthroponomical system. In the sovereign Kazakhstan in the conditions of the modern linguistic situation due to the new language policy there takes place the revival of the national and traditional ways of naming. One of the displays of ethnic identity is the abolition of the Russian model of surnames and patronymics forming that leads to the parallel functioning of several naming forms in the Kazakhs documents.
