There is revealed the urgency of study of I.S.Shmelevs creative work, suggested the fragment of learning methods of autobiographical narration peculiarities through comprehension of the notion about the Easter archetype, substantiated the choice of methods that allow organizing effective work in class.

There is regarded the issue of studying the prose by I.S.Shmelev at a secondary school. On the basis of the literary research devoted to the writers works there are noted out the main components of the notion about autobiographical prose reflected in the narrative structure of the writers works. The suggested system includes several structural elements and can be used when analyzing the works of other authors with autobiographical background.
