There is specified the notion volunteer, revealed the content of the notion volunteers of cultural and sport direction, substantiated the necessity of development of ethnic and cultural knowledge of these volunteers for effective voluntary work in the conditions of multiculture. There are described the functions of ethnic and cultural knowledge in the work of volunteers of cultural and sport direction.
