The article deals with the basic difficulties in study of dialect metaphors. The factors that prevent researching dialect metaphors are high expressiveness, a great number of occasional words, the variety of vocabulary, as well as the impossibility of consistent and detailed semantic analysis of most of the dialect vocabulary as a part of some lexical and semantic groups.
