There are considered the peculiarities of realization of confessionary intention in the genre of diaries, which is classified as a statement confession. There is sorted out a number of character types of such a statement confession - from the position of subject orientation, general emotional orientation, achievement of a desired goal, as well as general temporal orientation.

There are regarded the issues of a confession as one of the genres of religious discourse which contains its distinguishers and main peculiarities. It is considered reasonable to speak not only about the confession genre but also about the presence of different types of confessionary intention in texts that is to some extent wider than a confession. There is revealed and described the number of types of confessionary intention realization in narrative texts.
