There is researched the language personality of a biographical texts author, especially its motivational level. There is analysed the choice of speech strategies as the aspect of realization of the motivational level of the authors language personality. As the basic speech strategies used in the book by J.Welch Jack: Straight From The Gut there are considered the strategies of directing at the receiver and creating the authors image which not only demonstrate special features of a particular language personality but also reflect cultural values of American society.
