There is revealed the specificity and logic of work at formation of the notion of the comic in 5-9 forms on the material of stories by A.P.Chekhov. On the basis of literary research, dedicated to the writers creative work, there are marked out the main components of the notion the comic. The suggested system includes several structural elements and may be used in the analysis of comic works of other authors.
