There are regarded both the general theoretic issues of the Russian phraseology polysemy and homonymy, and the functioning peculiarities of polysemic and homonymous phraseological units in the Old Russian monuments.

There is described the special type of phraseological units in the Old Russian language where there is no subordinating connection between the components of a fixed word combination. Phraseological units of the word combination type in the Old Russian language are formed with different phraseological models and correspond to structurally different combinations of words.
