There are represented the results of the empirical research of mothers’ competence development who bring up early aged children by means of education.

There are analyzed the views of public figures, philosophers, psychologists, teachers on mothers work in bringing up children of early age in the historical retrospective view. There are compared the roles of professional teachers and mothers-teachers in bringing up children.
