The article deals with the issues of teaching physics and mathematics to foreign students at Russian universities. The specific features of teaching the notions of physics and mathematics to foreign students are described in the article. Following the research results regarding the specific features of teaching physics and mathematics at Russian universities, the authors propose a variety of language methods and teaching techniques that help to overcome the language, communicative and behavioural barriers.

There are analyzed the issues of teaching and education of students in polycultural environment of a higher school on the basis of gender approach; considered its world view bases, conditions of realization. On the basis of the examples of work with students from Africa, India and Malaysia there are shown the gender differences and ethnic cultural peculiarities of students.
