On the basis of the articles concerning the Russian
history in the journal Izvestia VSPU in the 2000s
there are analyzed the thematic areas of development
of the modern Russian historical science, evaluated
the contribution of the authors to the Russian
historiography.

Nizhniy Povolzhye in the economic,
political, social and cultural space in
Russia in the XIX-XX centuries: regional
research
There are analyzed the main directions of Nizhniy
Povolzhye region history study, which is investigated
by the teachers of Russian history department of
Volgograd State Social and Pedagogical University
in 2005-2011. There is noted the contribution to
development of historical region study, characterized
the developed scientific projects.
