Based on the available historical and factual material, the article deals with the reconstruction of the system of the academic and public disputes as the basic teaching method in the Kiev-Mogilyansky Collegium. Their structure, purpose and methodology are described, the reasons why the system of educational disputes is not widespread in the Moscow State are found out. All the dates are given in the old style; the quotes are given in the original spelling.

There are analyzed the peculiarities of establishment and development of the Russian language methodology in the 1920s. There is shown that during the changes in social and political system and social and cultural conditions in Russia the bases of educational system were actively and directly changed, new norms were introduced including the Russian language methodology.
