There is analyzed the dynamics of knowledge about pedagogic means in the context of development of the systemic approach in pedagogic research. There are revealed some urgent issues of the theory of means. There are formulated some general criteria of optimization of the system of personal qualities formation means.

There is substantiated the social value of a fully developed personality as the educational goal in the post-in dustrial period in the conditions of qualitative social and economic transformation of Russian society.
